What is Autism?
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a complex neurological disorder. Children who have ASD may display mild to severe impairments in their language development, limited social interaction, engage in obsessive or repetitive behaviors and or engage in self stimulatory behaviors.
According to the Center for Disease Control (CDC) the prevalence of autism has been estimated to affect as many as 1 in 68 children and is five times more common in boys than in girls. Onset in delays is very early, typically around 18 months.
Our one-on-one ABA Therapy focuses on skill acquisition targets as indicated in the paragraph above in addition to problematic behaviors such as feeding struggles, aggression, tantrums, self-injurious behaviors and property destruction.
There is currently no cure for Autism; however Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) intervention is research supported to be the most effective treatment for Autism Spectrum Disorders.
