Kristen James, M.A., CCC-SLP earned her Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology and Leisure Studies at Ouachita Baptist University in 2013. She completed her post-baccalaureate program at Texas Women’s University in 2019 and went on to earn a Master of Arts in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Houston in 2022. Kristen joined the Reason for Hope team in 2017 and became a registered behavior technician. As an RBT, Kristen discovered her passion for working with children with autism spectrum disorders and witnessed firsthand the positive impact of speech therapy. Seeing the benefits of early intervention and speech therapy, Kristen decided to change careers and become a speech-language pathologist. After completing graduate school, Kristen returned to The Reason for Hope to continue helping learners become successful in their speech and language skills. She loves teaching children how to communicate, learn new vocabulary, and be confident in their speech. When not at the therapy center, Kristen enjoys spending time with her family and friends, going shopping, and volunteering in the student ministry at her church.
